2. Cohort#2 Contest: Strategy to Win

Date: Saturday, November 30th, 2024

Time: 12:00AM - 11:59PM EST

Winner: The cohort team with the most social media engagement (likes, comments, shares) on posts with the hashtag #SBSHoneycomb2024 in the caption or comments.

Prize: TBD 👀 The winning cohort will be announced on Saturday, December 1st, 2024 🐝

🔑 Strategy to Win:

1. Post multiple times on 11/30/24!

2. Interact and engage with your teammates' posts!

Why engagement is the key to success:

1. Boosting Algorithm Signals 📈 🌎

  • Social media algorithms prioritize content that generates engagement quickly after posting.
  • When teammates interact with posts by liking, commenting, or sharing, it signals to the platform that the content is engaging and relevant, increasing its likelihood of appearing in more users' feeds.
  • Engagement can prolong the visibility of a post in users' feeds. Posts with ongoing engagement are more likely to stay relevant in the algorithm, appearing in users' suggested content or as a "recently active" post.

2. Expanding Reach and Audiences 📈 🌎

  • Engagement will amplify the reach to untapped audiences within overlapping or new networks!
  • Shares: When teammates share posts, it exposes the content to their unique network, many of whom may not already follow your account.
  • Comments: Meaningful comments (rather than generic ones) create deeper engagement, prompting the platform to prioritize the post.
  • Likes: Although likes may not carry the same weight as comments or shares, they still play a significant role in enhancing a post's overall engagement metrics. And it's quick, easy, and effective!

3. Fostering Community and Authenticity 👥 🌎

  • Visible interactions between teammates can create a sense of community around Small Business Saturday or the content.
  • This kind of interaction showcases authenticity and encourages followers to join the conversation.
  • When followers see teammates actively engaging with posts, it will encourage them to interact as well. This can create a snowball effect where engagement grows organically.
