Outreach Timeline for Personal Network

Follow this timeline to let your personal network know about your upcoming offering. Remember, strong follow-up is key!

On the day of your Strategy Call: 

Make a list of people you’d consider to be your potential early investors

  • Family members
  • Friends
  • Close customers
  • Professional contacts, mentors & advocates

The people who are going to be ready to invest on the first day of your investment offering are called your “category 1” investors. They’re the backbone of your investment offering, and critical to onboard at the outset of your launch. 

First Touchpoint: 6-8 days before launch:

Reach out to your Category 1 list. It is up to you if you’d like to do this via email, text, phone call, or in person. People tend to be more responsive to individual outreach, as opposed to mass emails. 

Review the First Touchpoint Messaging Templates to structure your outreach. There are three main points to highlight in any communication to your category 1:

  1. Your business is looking to grow and expand - touch on your project details.
  2. You need funding to accomplish these growth goals - you’ve partnered with Honeycomb Credit for access to capital. Give a quick explanation of Honeycomb.
  3. You are turning to your friends and family for early investors in your offering. Ask if they are interested in investing.

Second Touchpoint: 2-3 days before launch:

Follow up with your Category 1 before launch. Review the Second Touchpoint Messaging Templates for reference. There are a couple of points to communicate in a follow-up message:

  1. Provide them with your offering launch date and remind them you are looking for a few early investments to ignite momentum. 
  2. Build anticipation by sharing your offering video link to get people intrigued. 
  3. Send Honeycomb's website for them to check out in advance. Ask if they have any questions about Honeycomb or the investment opportunity. 

Third Touchpoint: Launch Day! 

Send a communication to all your Category 1 investors to let them know your offering is live and accepting investments. Review the Launch Day Messaging Guide for reference. Remember, your objective is to reach 10% of your goal in 48 hours. 


Following the 48-hour mark, touch base with your CX manager to assess progress and plan the next steps.
